Change a/c regn in database

Post by Downwind » Sun Aug 23, 2015 12:18 pm

ZS-SPU of Skywise appears as Z3-AAM of some obscure airline, a previous owner no doubt. How can I change this?

Thanks for any help.

Downwind, maybe you 2 listings of that hex code in the DB? If you do, then delete the Z3 one as that is what is probably showing up first. Also, check your DB for all ZS-SPU listings and make sure you don't have duplicates of that listed too.

Let us know if that fixes the problem?

I have two hex codes in my database for ZS-SPU. These are 512015 (old one) as well as 00A8C6 (the current one, I guess). Have erased the 512015, let's see if it stays gone.

It's actually the other Skywise aircraft ZS-PKV that shows as Z3-AAM (even on FR24).

ZS-PKV is still cranking out the regn as Z3-AAM, a previous identity on the hex 512015.

I guess until the transponder (?) setting is changed there's nothing that we as mere mortals can do. :Um:

Strange thing I have found is that sometimes the RB flight listing will show the correct registration but then it changes back to the old one as it polls the online database for information.

It took me forever to figure out that the way to stop it was to ensure that there are always 2 pictures in the photo folder of the aircraft even if it is just the blank No Picture Available ones. Give that a try and then refresh the display to see if it fixes it?

To prevent a particular aircraft being updated from the online database you need to ensure the "autoupdate " column in your aircraft database for that particular aircraft is set to N, and under the database Updates tab ensure the " do not update manually changed records " is ticked.

Thanks for the advice, gents. I'll try and banish Z3-AAM from my records. :Like:

ZS-PKV has suddenly come right but not from anything that I did.

She now has the hex 00A8C6 and is listed under Bricknell Aviation.

That is good news. Maybe they have corrected the code at last.
